Financial Independence is achieved when a person has enough wealth to no longer require an income from a job. If you’re like me, this doesn’t necessarily mean you want to retire, but rather it gives you the option to do anything and everything you want in life.

In this checklist, I lay out a path of 10 steps to take in order to set you up for financial independence. If you are able to complete all 10 of these steps, you will likely be able to reach your financial goals sooner than you think.

My name’s Josh Kay from Josh Kay Money. I graduated college with $26,000 in student loans and paid them off at 26. These are the exact steps I’ve used to increase my savings rate to over 50% of my income each month.

Whether you are new to personal finance or a veteran, use this checklist as a guide on your journey towards financial independence.
